Weekend Labor Day gaming deals: Xbox One S and Square Enix sale

Whatever your console of choice, Labor Day weekend is bringing about many discounts on 8th generation console. This is doubly true as the entire market gears up for Sony and Nintendo's upcoming announcements next week on new consoles. For this weekend, the Xbox One S, PlayStation 4, and even the Wii U are all receiving attractive deals.

The best of the lot may be on the August released Xbox One S. Though only weeks old, the consoles are getting their first big bonus offers from Microsoft Store. For qualifying models, Microsoft Store is tossing in a bonus $50 gift card and a free Ubisoft game of your choice. These are the offers we saw last year on the old Xbox One bundles, but what's crazy is some of these Xbox One S consoles are only 2 weeks old. Notably the deals last until September 6, just before Sony's September 7 announcement.

For the Wii U, Nintendo is clearing out refurbished units for $225 and throwing in a $25 gift card as extra incentive. While not a giant deal compare to Microsoft's, Nintendo deals are always few and far in between - so this is as good as it'll get till the holiday season.

Other good pick this weekend includes a giant Gamefly "Blowout Sale" with 120 titles on tap. Everything from $15 The Division (a fair price) to $10 Homefront: The Revolution (didn't this just came out?). GMG is also running a Square Enix sale on 24 titles, and PC gamers needing a controller can pick up this dirt cheap $10 PS3 knock-off over at Best Buy.
